Part 1 in this series comes together in pieces as Tori recounts, through flashbacks, her memories of being raised by outlaw bikers. As others have forewarned, this is NOT a love story where the “bad guy kidnapper” falls in love with the damsel in distress, feels remorseful, yadda, yadda, yadda. It is a tale of brutality, cruelty and suffering. This is a story that will make you cringe as you read about the horrors she was subjected to on a daily basis.
This book definitely isn’t for the faint of heart, but it is a great read. The inner strength and survival instinct of Tori was astounding. Why she didn’t use her blade to commit suicide early on is beyond me. Tori’s story had me thinking a great deal about justifiable homicide.
It was also great that Tori is kind of a badass! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series to see where the story, and the relationship with Eli, goes.
